Overview

University Health Services (UHS) at Princeton University is a fully accredited (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, or “AAAHC”) health care facility. Located in the McCosh Health Center, the Caldwell Field House, and Dillon Gym. UHS provides comprehensive health services to more than 8,300 Princeton undergraduate and graduate students, and specialized services to Princeton University faculty, staff, and employees who experience work-related injuries and illnesses, or who require consultations regarding international and travel medicine.

UHS hires individuals of all backgrounds. It builds on staff diversity--recognizing, valuing, and appreciating the different perspectives, talents and energy of all. UHS invites all its employees to make a valuable contribution in this regard. UHS firmly believes that being an inclusive and culturally responsive community is one of the foundations of a vibrant, relevant organization. It aspires to develop the mindsets, knowledge and abilities to build equitable and inclusive systems, teams and culture.

Physicians at UHS provide primary and urgent health care to Princeton undergraduate and graduate students, as well as their immediate family members who are insured through Princeton’s Student Health Plan. The physician primarily works in the outpatient medical clinic, but also cares for students admitted for observation or care in the Infirmary, and may also provide medical coverage for University events, such as commencement, reunions, and varsity athletic events. The scope of practice per policy for a physician may extend to certain circumscribed roles regarding faculty and staff, the provision of courtesy first aid care to visitors, and limited care regarding visiting students and alumni, such as large varsity athletic tournaments, Princeton Preview, and Reunions. The physician participates as a member of the UHS physician group, sharing in professional development and service coverage, including overnight and weekend on-call rotations, regular urgent care clinical sessions at the McCosh Health Center, and rare evening and weekend event coverage as needed.
