Description
The Center for Professional Development in Career and Technical Education (CTE) in the College of Education and the Intergenerational Center (IGC) are both grant funded Centers charged with delivering a range of services in our region. The CTE Center provides field-based teacher education programming in a specialized setting in the Eastern region of the state while the IGC  provides a range of services that meet the needs of children and families in Philadelphia ranging from Caregiver/Reporting services, College and Career Readiness, workforce development and Out of School Time programming. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the assistant director of operations will be responsible for overseeing the operation of two grant-funded Centers to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services. 
The Assistant Director will oversee research projects, complete fiscal requirements and contracts, prepare reports, audit preparation, supervise staff, represent the Centers at conferences as needed, and ensure great customer service to all stakeholders. They will also perform other duties associated with the daily operation of the Centers, and evaluate, guide, and coordinate program activities to ensure proper accountability and compliance with contract requirements. Complete grant contract requirements, convene meetings with stakeholders to share progress, troubleshoot issues and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree and at least five years of directly related experience including managing budgets and funded projects, some supervisory and project management experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.  
Required Skills & Abilities:*Ability to manage funded projects, including federally-funded projects and prepare and present periodic status reports on progress*Proven track record of grant management and reporting*Demonstrated ability to monitor departmental expenses.*Ability to handle confidential materials and exercise discretion.*Excellent customer service skills along with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of administrators, faculty, staff and students  from diverse geographic regions*Ability to use initiative, sound judgment, and a detailed knowledge of department and University policies and procedures to solve problems and make good decisions.*Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate projects in collaboration with other centers staff.*Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.*Strong written and oral communication skills.*Strong interpersonal skills, partnership building and leadership/supervision skills*Ability to adhere to all applicable policies, procedures and protocols.*Strong computer skills and proficiency in the use Microsoft Office® programs, especially Excel, Access and PowerPoint which is used to track progress on project outcomes and deliverables*Skilled in the use of automated office equipment, including computer, scanner, copier, fax, PC and telephone.*Understand, communicate and ensure staff compliance with university policies such as travel, HR, etc.*Oversee the logistics of events and ensure efficient operations and employ cost containment strategies.*Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.*Ability to travel to conferences and other meeting sites and operate effectively in cross-cultural environments.*Strong public speaking, written skills, presentation, and communication skills.*Ability to create and/or streamline internal processes and systems to track program data and reports for audits and progress reporting as necessary. 


Preferred:*Prior experience working in higher education and/or state-wide bureaucracies*Prior experience working with grant-funded projects that are large in scope*Familiarity with Temple University’s landscape
