Job Summary/Basic Function:
The University of North Texas (UNT), College of Business Department of Marketing, Logistics, and Operations Management invites applications for a non-tenure track Clinical position in Operations Management/Logistics/Supply Chain Management. We seek an individual with significant experience in the Operations Management/Logistics/Supply Chain Management discipline, with the ability and experience to teach undergraduate and graduate courses.

The discipline experience could be in any areas related to the supply chain management profession (examples may include, but are not limited to, production and operations management, supply chain management, purchasing, logistics, new product development, global supply chain, technology and consulting).

Duties will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in multiple areas of operations management, logistics, or purchasing; developing curriculum and courses; serving the department, university and community; and assisting with accreditation and re-accreditation efforts.

An additional responsibility will include connecting students and faculty to relevant industry projects and engagements. We believe there is tremendous growth potential in the DFW area for the University of North Texas.

Rank assignment (Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Full Professor) will be based on experience and education. Salary is commensurate with AACSB standards for an Assistant professor in Business.

Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be qualified for appointment at the rank of Clinical Professor (Associate or Full) and possess a terminal degree (Ph.D., DBA or equivalent) in Business (such as Operations Management, Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Technology), Inter-Organizational Psychology (to include Organizational Behavior and Leadership), Industrial Engineering or a degree in a closely-related field. We will also consider Non-U.S. terminal degrees (Ph.D., DBA or equivalent).

The successful candidate will also have significant professional, technical, or managerial experience in a discipline related to operations management, logistics, purchasing, global business, engineering or supply chain management. Significant experience is interpreted as at least five years of duties and responsibilities. Examples of effective communication (both written and oral), team building and collegiality will be evaluated during the interview process.

Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive work experience in Operations Management, Logistics, Purchasing or Supply Chain Management or a related business field at a senior executive level. Extensive experience is interpreted as at least 10 years of duties and responsibilities. Additional preferred qualifications include teaching experience at the college level, a strong background presenting in intercompany/intracompany settings or professional seminars.

We actively integrate our non-tenure track faculty into all aspects of our mission. As such it is considered a plus if a perspective candidate demonstrates an ability to support projects with the McNatt Institute for Logistics Research and the Center for Logistics and Supply Chain Management Research. These are typically industry oriented projects that are similar to consulting work. This work is important to infuse recent industry advances into our undergraduate and graduate classroom experience along with providing strong value to our industry partners. This type of project provides additional salary sources. UNT has an active technology incubator and technology transfer infrastructure and welcomes all faculty engagement and ideas. Experience with business development and project management is welcome. Opportunities exist to work with the UNT Professional Development Institute to engage in consulting, training and executive education. These types of efforts are critical elements of our Carnegie Tier 1 research strategy.

The preferred candidate will have the ability to help lead efforts to ensure relevant work ready skills are included into the undergraduate curriculum. The proposed candidate will support faculty team efforts aimed at increasing student placement rates, increasing starting salaries and student internship rates.

The candidate's ability to create a research agenda is also welcome. Professional association memberships, awards and certifications will be a plus.
