The National Council of Teachers of English, a vibrant and growing association that supports the teaching and learning of English and language arts across the preK– college spectrum, seeks a dynamic new team member to join NCTE in an Administrative Liaison position.

The position will be responsible for providing administrative support for specific NCTE groups, programs, and events. This work entails close work with group leadership on day-to-day operations, membership growth planning, budget implementation, and virtual and face-to-face meetings. Position will work closely with NCTE staff leaders to identify and develop strategic direction, including facilitating group discussion and identifying issues of importance to members and prospective members. Additional responsibilities will include providing administrative support for events and meetings among affiliated groups, including but not limited to coordinating hotel/travel details, setting up meeting calls for proposals, managing speaker notifications, and onsite meeting execution.

The qualified individual will possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of relevant work experience. Experience in event management and support, and proficiency with Association Management Software systems are also required.

Prior experience in supporting and growing membership and supporting academic groups and teachers is preferred.

NCTE offers a competitive salary and benefits package. As NCTE embraces a distributed workforce, this position may be located in any geographic location. Travel will be required between offices and NCTE’s field locations/meetings.
