Director, Academic and Student-Athlete Support Services and Compliance Officer

Position SummaryDirect NYU’s athletics eligibility compliance certification and rules education, serving as a main point of contact for NCAA officials. Oversee NYU’s recruitment and admission process for prospective student-athletes, serving as the primary liaison between the Department of Athletics and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and advocating for qualified applicants throughout the admissions process. Develop and implement academic support services for varsity and club student-athletes, supervising a team of sport-specific advisors who liaise between Athletics and University academic offices. Build strong internal and external partnerships to design, implement, and assess programming initiatives focused on student-athlete development.QualificationsRequired Education:Master’s degree in higher education administration, counseling and guidance, sports management, or student personnel administration.Required Experience:7+ years’ experience supervising student services personnel and providing academic and personal counseling for student-athletes at the college or university level.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Ability to collaborate with University leadership, faculty, and outside groups and to interact professionally with all members of the University community. Excellent analytical and written and verbal communication skills.
