Overview
The Petta lab, led by Professor Jason Petta in the Department of Physics at Princeton University, is seeking a highly motivated lab coordinator to assist in all aspects of propelling the research efforts of the lab. This position would serve as the lab liaison/manager. Petta lab research currently focuses on quantum control of nanometer scale systems.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include: Quantum Device Nanofabrication Laboratory (QDNL) responsibilities:
- Maintain lab inventory on a bi-weekly basis
- Remove and restock Cintas garments from lockers on a bi-weekly basis
- Liaise with facilities regarding cleaning the lab
- Follow up with EHS regarding chemical waste disposal on a bi-weekly basis
- Restock chemicals and supplies
- Update training calendar on the QDNL website
- Oversee billing for the lab on a monthly basis
- Train users on the equipment and use of the lab
Research Group responsibilities:
- Reconcile all credit card purchases via Concur
- Manage and document all lab purchases
- Coordinate group, visitor, and PI travel arrangements
- Arrange for document scanning
- Restock lab supplies
- Coordinate weekly journal club
- Along with departmental staff, track capital equipment and update binder
- Monitor lab safety with continued communication with the department safety officer
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills who will help foster a safe and efficient laboratory work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Ability to work autonomously while also taking direction and constructive feedback well
- Experience in a laboratory environment with hazardous materials
- Willingness and patience to both learn and train
- Ability to lift at least 20 pounds
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience with financial systems
