The McIntire Department of Art at the University of Virginia seeks applications for a Lecturer of Roman Art and Archaeology for a two-year salaried part-time appointment as an Academic General Faculty Member (Tenure-Ineligible) starting August 25, 2019, through May 24, 2021.
The applicant must be prepared to teach Roman Art and Archaeology, Introduction to Classical Archaeology, an introductory survey of art history from antiquity through the 14th century, as well as courses in the applicant's area of specialization. The successful candidate will have an active research profile, be actively engaged in fieldwork, and possess the ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate students at all levels. A Masters’ degree in an appropriate field is required by the start date, with preference given to applicants that possess a PhD.
