JOB SUMMARY
         
     

The Executive Director, Strategic Financial Planning & Special Projects will be supporting Corporate Finance.  Serving under the CFO UHealth , this person will be heavily involved in several areas of Corporate Financial analysis and be part of the linkage between the Finance and CSBD departments. Major responsibilities include support of M&A deal analysis, valuing the costs and benefits associated with potential investments, and providing ad hoc decision support analysis for major executive level projects.  A critical component of this role will be to directly enable M&A activity with the creation and editing of valuation and other models to support potential transactions.  Examples of decision support include headcount and real estate scenario analysis.  Furthermore, this person will assist in the multi-year financial projections to support our Long Range Strategic Plan.  Finally, this role also includes a reporting component which will require regular analysis and reporting to understand if desired returns have been achieved or not across the investment portfolio.

JOB FUNCTIONS      
 

  • Support the CFO UHealth with executive level financial analysis and modeling
  • Closely partner with our Corporate Strategy and Business Development (CSBD) function on projects and analysis
  • Align with Senior leadership on real estate strategy and execution agenda
  • Independently value costs and benefits of major initiatives and produce regular reporting to determine accuracy realized costs and benefits vs. projections
  • Perform ad hoc what if scenario analysis for variable decision making
  • Build and maintain complex financial models for M&A and other activities
  • Assist in the building of our financial projections tied to our Long Range Strategic Plan
  • Implement continuous rolling financial forecast processes to update the Long Range Strategic Plan based on changes to actual, budgeted, and short-term financial performance
  • Develop and deliver executive level presentations on projects and investments
  • Closely interact with our CFO and SVP of CSBD, clinical department chairs, hospital leadership, and other critical functional areas within UHealth
  • Maintains strategic partnerships with other institutions and community organizations.
  • Reviews monthly performance and financial results and provides recommendations to senior management.
  • Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements and monitors controls.
  • Other duties or responsibilities as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS        


Bachelors degree is required. Master’s Degree strongly preferred.  CPA/MBA a plus. Minimum 10+ years of financial or accounting experience and demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Knowledge of budget control methods, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to prepare financial and accounting records.
  • Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data.
