Hofstra University is a dynamic community of more than 11,000 students from around the world who are dedicated to civic engagement, academic excellence and becoming leaders in their communities and their careers.Description:The Hofstra Northwell School of Graduate Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies requests applications from qualified individuals for a full time associate or assistant professor position. The Master of Science program with a major in nursing has three tracks: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP), and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

Responsibilities include:
•Provide instruction to Master of Science students in the FNP, AGACNP, and PMHNP track
•Demonstrate competence in teaching
•Engage in community service above and beyond faculty requirements
•Engage in lifelong learning as evidenced by participation in professional and faculty development
•Evidence of progressive participation and leadership of national/international professional organizations
•Maintain board certification as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
•Maintain clinical/professional experience in the field of accreditation of graduate-level nursing programs, namely Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)


Qualifications:Qualifications: Successful candidates will possess the following:
•Candidates must have a doctoral degree in nursing or a related field
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching at the collegiate level required
•Minimum of 7 years of clinical experience required
•Board certified as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner required
•Peer reviewed national/international presentations, publications required
•Excellent communication, organizational, teaching, leadership and time management skills
•Outstanding computer skills are a must and include proficiency in Blackboard, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
