The Head Coach, Men's Club Rugby will serve as the Office of Recreations Services day-to-day supervisor of the men's club rugby program. The position reports directly to the Coordinator of Recreation Services, with oversight by the Director of Athletics and Recreation. The Head Men's Rugby Coach will keep the Coordinator of Recreation Services aware of progress and issues related scheduling, maintenance, preparation, and event management issues for all club activities.The position is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the rugby program, establishing policies, methods and standards in the administration and operation of the Club Rugby Program. The position will require travel with the team to and from games, and all club functions.

All Athletics staff members are expected to contribute to Bucknell’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities include:

•Lead practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained. Perform specific coaching responsibilities during scheduled events.
•Work closely with the club sport athletic training staff to insure the safety of all student-athletes.
•Maintain continuing and thorough familiarity with all applicable sport rules and the rules and regulations of Bucknell University.
•Work with the Associate Athletic Director for Recreation Services and the club officers in regards to all arrangements for team travel, practice and competition.
•Participate in any and all fundraising activities as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Recreation Services.
•Must possess and maintain current CPR certification.
•Represent the sports program to various institutional programs and externally to the students, parents, faculty, and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications:
•Knowledge of the rules and safety requirements for Men’s Rugby. This includes, but is not limited to, teaching techniques and safety measures for student-athletes to compete at the collegiate level.
•Experience coaching student-athletes in a collegiate setting.
•Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to interact with diverse groups.
•Certification by USA Rugby. Must maintain certification at appropriate level to meet the current and future levels as defined by the league.
