Classroom and clinical teaching of undergraduate and graduate students in area of clinical expertise. Clinical expertise may be in one of the following specialty areas of nursing: Adult Medical-Surgical, Geriatrics, Neonatal, Pediatrics, Maternity/Midwifery, or Psychiatric. Conducts an ongoing program of scholarship which results in publications and presentations. Provides service to the School and College through committee work, curricula design and review, and representation at professional organizations. Reviews for professional journals. Maintains licensure and certification as appropriate. Maintains currency in profession through continuing education. Serves as a role model in clinical excellence for faculty and students. This is a full time, tenure track position. Hiring rank is open at the Associate or Full Professor level, based upon qualifications.

Classroom and clinical teaching of undergraduate and graduate students, with exact mix of responsibilities dependent upon area of clinical expertise, and scope of ongoing research activities. Provides consultation on clinical excellence across programs.

Ph.D. degree in nursing or related field. Demonstration of a distinguished clinical nursing career. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, maintain an ongoing research program, and the ability to collaborate with others for the good of the institution.

Educational requirement: MS in nursing and PhD in nursing or related field. New York State license as a registered nurse required, and New York State Nurse Practitioner Licensure if applicable.


Certification as an advanced practice nurse; either CNS or NP. Expertise in a clinical specialty. Academic teaching experience strongly preferred, and a program of research is required.


Commensurate with experience and academic accomplishments.
