Basic Function

The incumbent in this position will tutor NOVA students and provide administrative and clerical support for the Academic Support Centers at the Annandale campus.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide academic support and assistance, outside the classroom environment, to students enrolled at NOVA. Provide front-line administrative and clerical support to the ASC. Further the organizational mission and promote enhanced academics at NOVA.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma. Demonstrated knowledge of a specific academic area in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s degree. Proficiency with MS Office. Previous experience working as a tutor. Previous experience working in higher education.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of a specific academic area. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with a diverse population of students. Knowledge of various learning preferences.
