Teach “Recording Studio Electronics: Theory and Maintenance” and “Sound Studio Design” classes at the Loudoun campus of Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA)Duties and Responsibilities
Adjunct faculty are employed to teach up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semester and/or up to 8 credit hours during summer session. Teaching load is based upon student enrollment and staffing needs. Instruction may be during the day, evening, or weekend.Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have an earned high school degree and five years of documented occupational experience in the field of specialization.Preferred Qualifications
College level teaching experience and/or relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Technical expertise in studio design and studio electronics including the ability to read schematics
•Fundamental of equations and laws in studio electronics
•Ability to teach studio electronic repair
•Command over the theory behind audio electronic equipment
•Experience in studio design and construction of large and small scale studios
•Ability to spec and price a studio from scratch
•Command over the theory behind studio configuration
•Current knowledge of storage systems and strategies for storing data
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Proficiency with oral and written English
•Ability to work with a diverse student population
•Successful passing of a criminal background check
•Adjunct faculty are required to meet assigned classes on meeting dates,
submit required grade records and reports, student learning outcomes.
•Classes maybe held during the day, evening or combination of both.
Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check is required.
