Duties

The Part-Time Administrative Coordinator position provides varied administrative support for the Institute for Immunology (IFI). He/she will provide primary support to the Director of Administration and Finance, including: helping to coordinate seminar series and research talks and to provide minimal administrative support for Institute-recruited Faculty located on the 3rd floor BRB II/III. The Administrative Coordinator will also provide day-to-day support of the IFI administrative office staff by maintaining effective and efficient daily office operations. This position requires extensive email and telephone contact at multiple levels, both internal and external to the University and routine correspondence to outside vendors and University staff, and requires excellent interpersonal skills. The individual must be available to work longer hours on Tuesdays with a corresponding shorter work day on Wednesdays.

Qualifications

A High School Diploma or GED and 5 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

College coursework or degree is a plus. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, the availability to exercise initiative, work autonomously and multi-task competently, good verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and keeping track of detailed administrative procedures are required. Experience preferable coordinating progress or special events in a university environment is strongly preferred.
