Job Summary

The GME Program Coordinator position, under the direct supervision of the specialty Program Director and/or GME Education Specialist, and in consultation and regular collaboration with the DIO or their designee, is responsible for managing the daily administrative activities of the residency program as outlined in the ACGME Institutional, Common Program and Specialty Program Guidelines for Graduate Medical Education. In addition, the GME Program Coordinator position is responsible for the direct oversight of the administrative and professional responsibilities for all the program’s residents-in-training on a daily basis, and serves as the primary liaison between the Residency Program Director, chief residents, residents, program faculty, GME Office, and affiliated teaching sites concerning residency program matters.

Associate’s degree with 3 years in complex administrative role or GME residency management preferred. TAGME certification if available is strongly encouraged.

Research

In fiscal year 2016, the University of Kentucky was awarded $316.5 million in external grants and contracts.
