Description

The Speech,Language, and Brain Laboratory (SLAB Lab) in the Department of CommunicationSciences and Disorders at Temple University is seeking a part-time (32hours/week) Lab Manager for an NIH-funded research project focused on treatmentfor childhood apraxia of speech. The Lab Manager's responsibilities includeparticipant recruitment and scheduling, data collection and management, dataanalysis, overseeing and managing research assistants, assist withpreparing IRB renewals and NIH progress reports, interfacing with Universityoperations (e.g., room scheduling, petty cash/gift card office), and manageday-to-day operations including purchasing (e.g., office supplies, prizes forchildren). Performs other duties as assigned.

 

RequiredEducation & Experience:

Bachelor’sdegree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field. Experienceworking with pre-K and school-age children. Prior related research experiencestrongly preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience maybe considered.

 

 

RequiredSkills & Abilities:

*Must beable to obtain Act 33 Clearances.

*Ability towork with a diverse population of children, adolescents, faculty, and staff.

*Demonstratedability to work independently and as a part of a team.

*Excellentwritten, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

*Demonstratedorganizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.

*Demonstratedcomputer skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office

*Must beable to travel to locations that may not be accessible by publictransportation.

 

This is aPart-Time Position (32 hours), contingent on available funding.
