This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
This position is responsible for day-to-day tasks related to customer support, which includes working at the service window issuing permits and providing information related to parking services. Must be able to explain university parking rules, regulations and interpret policy to faculty, staff, students and guests. Resolve day-to-day customer parking complaints, problems and questions through the service window, through emails, written correspondence and/or incoming phone calls.
It will be the responsibility of this position to work daily in the parking management solution T2 Systems to fix problems and troubleshoot issues with customers. To enter replacement and Veterans permits into T2 and link them to customers and change classification of separated auxiliary employees. This position is responsible for the campus Voyager gas card program, to submit vehicle accidents reports to risk management, coordinate the administrative hearing process for second level of parking appeals and to manage the campus defensive driving program.
The expectation is this position would also be able to assist in the absence of the student assistants and other the office support coordinator. The position would be able to assist with, and trouble-shoot parking inquiries and problems and the use all software applications.

Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $3,497 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,115 - $5,475 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.
These qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills
- Two to three years of experience in a customer service role in a University setting preferably working a customer service window.
- Proven ability to multi-task work priorities while working a service window and answering phones.
- Previous cash handling experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel
