Department University CommunicationsResponsibilities Florida State University's University Communications team is seeking a multimedia design specialist.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Multimedia Design Specialist, the role will serve as an integral member of the University Communications team to support the development and delivery of marketing and communications materials related to institutional identity, in-house client support, and brand development across multiple platforms.

Designs and prepares high-quality original layouts and designs for a variety of media platforms including ads, posters, brochures, postcards, e-cards and university publications. Works to incorporate Florida State's visual identity and branding images to maintain a unified and consistent look across publications and other media outputs. Interacts with University Communications staff and clients to determine project requirements and priorities to ensure timely production of high-quality promotional materials.

Works collaboratively with the Creative services team to ensure that high-quality marketing materials are produced in a timely manner for campus clients. Reviews proofs and offers constructive critiques of other designers' and design students' work when called upon to help create an atmosphere of creative brainstorming to meet the university's need for a positive, dynamic visual image.

Assists design students as needed by mentoring them on design principles and technical issues. Ensures that design and technical skills are kept current through on-the-job training, review of professional publications, and training.

Perform administrative functions to support multimedia design work. Maintain project files and project tracking in an efficient and timely manner. Assist in the maintenance of supplies inventory.Qualifications Bachelor's degree and two years experience directly related to responsibilities of this job.

Experience applying technical skills and creative talents towards a wide range of projects.

Experience creating original layouts and designs for a variety of platforms to include traditional print media, web, and multimedia.

Experience creating computer generated artwork, graphic symbols, and still media.

Experience creating media for use in a variety of formats.

Experience collaborating with a team and working on shared projects.

Experience designing and formatting layouts for print and electronic media.

Must have the ability to coordinate and oversee multiple projects simultaneously while working within a project team environment.

Organized and detail-oriented.

Ability to meet tight deadlines.
