Serves as the Gordon Center Program Manager by exercising sound judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness. Oversee the day-to-day administrative operations and collaborate with the center Directors. Manage and execute the Gordon Scholars Program selection process. Leads hiring efforts for the Gordon Center to include lecturers, contract workers, teaching assistants, and any future administrators.
Direct day-to-day tasks for student workers, part-time staff and the outreach and communication director or center administrative assistant. Propose, manage and maintain the annual Gordon Center budget. Collaborate with the outreach and communication coordinator on strategy for outreach and alumni engagement. Create reports and proposals based on data analysis maintained throughout the year for the Gordon Center.
Plan and coordinate logistics for Gordon Center outreach events and networking opportunities throughout Jacobs School of Engineering and local engineering community. Events range from multiple days think tanks/symposiums, workshops forums or spear series events. Represent the center at info sessions, host info sessions to students at all levels (undergraduate, graduate and professional).QUALIFICATIONS
Proven experience creating and maintaining training materials on departmental/administrative operations with emphasis on financial, student services, and instructor/student relations policies and procedures.
Demonstrated experience overseeing the scheduling of a variety of events and/or meetings for large and small groups. Proven planning and coordinating logistics for professional events.
Demonstrated experience monitoring operating budgets and managing expenditures within allocated funds.
Demonstrated experience providing customer service, providing support to staff and instructors/teachers.
Strong working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
Ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, recommend solutions, determine and implement procedures to accomplish effective resolution, and evaluate results or progress.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing. Excellent writing and editing skills of a variety of media.
Independent team player, organized, creative, efficient, and have the ability to prioritize audience and switch styles for a variety audience, and coachable.
Strong decision-making skills and use independent judgment to quickly set priorities and to solve problems. Ability to respond effectively to unexpected events and crises.
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
