Preferred Qualifications Position Summary

This position performs professional level accounting work independently in the Terry College of Business. The position is responsible for approval of financial transactions relating to State and Income accounts and reconciliation of reports. This position exercises judgment in maintenance of accounting procedures for these accounts.

State
•Provide budget management of state, income, grant and UGA-Foundation accounts based on UGA/UGA-F policies/ procedures.
•Assist Business Manager with budgeting, accounting and bookkeeping for Academic and non-Academic Departments.
•Initiate and approve financial transactions relating to state, income and grant accounts. These transactions include Employee reimbursement and Payment request in PeopleSoft, UGAMart, etc.
•Final approver for financial transactions relating to state and income accounts for certain units.
•Prepare and review journal entries relating to state, income and grant accounts.
•Balance monthly status reports for multiple Departments accounts to Budget App (TCB’s financial system).
•Possess P-Card and ensure purchases comply with UGA’s PCard policy.
•Manage Dept. UGA-Foundation Chair accounts.
•Provide advice and make recommendations on deficit handling scenarios to Business Manager.
•Manage scholarship submissions for multiple Depts.
•Prepare and run reports relating to budget for dept. and unit heads

•Participate in Academic and Non-Academic unit managerial meetings, providing advice based on financial and UGA policy and procedural knowledge.
•Coordinate and execute some administrative needs on behalf of Academic and Non-Academic units to include personnel, travel, procurement, contracts and accounting activities.
•Advise Academic and Non-Academic personnel on policies and processes of the University.
•Work with the Terry College Business Office, UGA Procurement, UGA Finance and Administration to research and resolve complex administrative issues.
•Maintain and manage complete and accurate administrative records.
•Exercise discretion and use security policies with confidential materials and information.
