Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The overall purpose of this position is to support the Institutional Effectiveness (IE) team in its efforts to empower various CIIS departments in the use and maintenance of their information systems throughout the University, using and documenting best practices that are aligned with the Institute's strategic goals. Additionally, the IE Analyst will assist in all aspects of reporting at CIIS; report writing, processing and distribution of reports based on both internal and external requests for data and statistics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the IE team in determining how various information systems can be used to achieve greater efficiencies from business procedures; implement changes in business processes or data protocols related to information system use; communicate these changes across these and other relevant departments
  • Fulfill requests for ad hoc reports; in coordination with the IE team, analyze ongoing report needs; train staff to manage and run reports
  • In coordination with the IE team, audit various information systems to insure data accuracy
  • Assist in submission of reports to external agencies (Student Clearinghouse, IPEDS, Peterson's, etc.)
  • Assist in the documentation of policies and procedures that are central to IE work
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Required Experience

  • Proficient at Microsoft Word; intermediate proficiency with Excel
  • Understanding of SQL
  • Understanding of the importance of data integrity
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Attention to detail and well organized
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's degree

Desired Experience

  • Prior experience in college or university setting
  • Experience with Jenzabar or other Student Information System (such as Ellucian, Banner, or Colleague, etc.)
  • Experience using reporting software (such as Infomaker, Crystal Reports, etc.)
  • Experience working with databases (such as SQL Server, Access, FileMaker, etc.)

  • Working Conditions -- Duties are primarily performed in an office environment at a desk or computer terminal, typically, Monday through Friday.

You may also be asked to provide proof of educational degree(s), licenses or credentials pertinent to the position. If your job requires driving on behalf of CIIS you will be required to provide proof of a valid driver's license.
