POSITION: WOMEN'S BOWLING HEAD COACH

LOCATION: ATHLETICS

JOB SUMMARY: New Jersey City University, a member of the NCAA Division III and the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, is accepting applications for the position of part-time Head Coach in the sport of Women`s Bowling. The Head Coach reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for all aspects of the team including but not limited to: recruitment, program development, scheduling, practice preparation and game day coaching. Applicants must be well versed in the sport. A Bachelor`s degree is preferred and 3-5 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to the academic success of the student-athletes and the NCAA Division III philosophy of athletics participation. This is a non-benefit contracted position. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until position is filled.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Successfully recruit, retain, develop, and graduate high-performing women’s bowling student-athletes. Preparation, organization, design, and implementation of effective practice plans, off-season programs, competitive schedules and recruiting systems. Effective and timely budget management, equipment oversight, and travel planning. Effective community engagement, donor, and public relations. Consistent compliance with NCAA, AMMC, USBC and NJCU policies, rules, and regulations.

REQUIREMENTS: Expertise in the technical and teaching aspects of coaching women’s collegiate bowling. USBC Silver Level Coaching Certificate or above preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in the successful recruitment, retention, and graduation of high-performing women’s collegiate bowling student-athletes.

EXPERIENCE: Knowledge in the operations and administration of a successful collegiate women’s bowling program. USBC Silver Level Coaching Certificate or above preferred. NCAA experience as a bowling student-athlete preferred. Excellent communication, organizational, teaching, public relations, interpersonal, customer service, and supervisory skills. Strong knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

REQUIRED: A bachelor’s degree is required. Three years of collegiate and/or professional bowling coaching experience or five years of high school, collegiate and/or professional bowling coaching experience is also required.

PREFERRED: The criteria for evaluation in this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Program Leadership, Recruitment, Student-Athlete Experience and Administration.
