Assistant Professor in School of Nursing - BSN Program Director
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is seeking applications for a tenure track position in the School of Nursing to begin appointment as Director of the BSN Program, Fall 2019 . Duties may include teaching students in classrooms and/or online, simulated laboratories, and clinical settings as well as student advisement. Additional efforts in professional achievement and professional service are expected, and experience working with ethnically diverse populations is a plus.
The BSN Program Director shall provide leadership in the following areas: 1) Coordinate the BSN Program, supervise faculty performance, and manage workload of the assigned faculty; 2) Evaluate the curriculum as required by the accrediting agency on an annual basis; 3) Teach students didactic and/or clinical;4) Advise students about preceptor requirements regarding clinical practice; and 5) Ensure program adherence to the Texas Board of Nursing legislated regulations. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
