Department Overview
The Helpdesk and Client Services Department in the Information Technology Services Division is dedicated to supporting the technology needs of UNT Health Science Center (UNTHSC) faculty, staff, and students. The Department's services include, but are not limited to, assessing and recommending new technology to enhance user experience, providing full spectrum technology support for students, supporting network infrastructure work, and supporting class, video conference, and special event technology needs.

Position Details
The Helpdesk and Client Services Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Director of Hepdesk and Client Services to join the team.

The Director of Helpdesk and Client Services will lead a group of passionate, talented IT service providers. This position is accountable for the work of the teams that support the technology needs of UNTHSC, including helpdesk, desktop support, network infrastructure support, student technology, classroom and events audio/visual support, and video conferencing and streaming. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

* Positively increase customer satisfaction with services provided by Information Technology Services (ITS).
* Collaborate with ITS leadership to provide agile project management and innovative solutions.
* Consult with clients on hardware and software needs.
* Keep customers informed of new developments and IT opportunities.
* Serve as liaison between IT technical experts (vendors) and clients.
* Coach and strengthen team.
* Manage resources (budgets) and risk.
* Work closely with the CIO and other ITS leaders to build trust, collaboration and an innovative environment.
* Lead a team of network analysts to maintain a high quality, highly available network infrastructure.
* Provide leadership to develop sound network product evaluation, installation, integration and maintenance practices.
* Provide regular communication to executive management about ITS's plans, policy, and procedures.
* Provide oversight and direction to team Managers.
* Assess new technology in relation to HSC goals.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and six (6) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Strong written and verbal communications skills; comfortable communicating with senior levels of both business and technology leadership.
* Experience driving large projects and programs to completion.
* Leader who fosters a positive and productive working environment where new ideas are encouraged and people are challenged.
* Background in Agile development, Lean principals and Kanban tools.
* Experience in CapEx planning, contract/vendor relations and asset management.
* Demonstrated leadership experience.
* Strong demonstrated customer service skills.
* Knowledge of security threats and how to secure data.
