The Office of Public Relations is in need of federal work-study students to assist with everyday operations within the office. We strive to maintain a professional and warm environment with a high level of polish associated with every interaction.
The federal work study student will report to the director of Public Relations and be supervised by the administrative assistant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performing clerical tasks such as copying, filing, word processing and data entry; answering telephone calls, resolving or routing appropriately; delivering documents and other items to appropriate offices and performing other related duties as assigned. Appropriate business casual attire is required.
Job summary/basic function: Students are awarded a federal work study position on a per semester basis and the length of employment is determined by the discretion of the hiring manager. The rate of pay is 8.25/hour up to the Federal Work Study award.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a Federal Work-Study Award and be in good academic standing
- Must be currently enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours
- Must be able to handle confidential information
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Punctual
- Possess excellent organizational and time management skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Position may require local travel. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone and in writing. Applicant must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
