Social Science Research Coordinator:
The Department of Psychology is looking for a full time Social Science Research Coordinator (SSRC) to assist with the implementation of social-psychological interventions to improve psychological and academic outcomes of students taking Advanced Placement courses and exams in high school.
The main duties of this position are to assist in the coordination and implementation of our interventions with the Advanced Placement program. The SSRC will coordinate the general daily operation of the project, the preparation of intervention and survey materials, random assignment of participants to condition, the administration of interventions and surveys, and data collection. Once data are collected, the SSRC will help with data management, data cleaning, and basic statistical analyses. The SSRC will communicate with our external partners, including responding to questions and issues that arise and drafting reports and other communications. The SSRC may perform incidental office duties (photocopying, mailings, errand running, etc.).
This individual will be an essential project member who must be able to learn and work independently, yet collaborate effectively with co-workers. Previous experience working in an academic environment is a plus. Knowledge of social and educational psychology is desired. Comfort with data management and basic data analyses is preferable. Experience with Excel and Qualtrics is beneficial, and experience with LIWC coding is a plus. The work will take place in a dynamic environment where specifications often change rapidly in response to demand, so the candidate must be able to be flexible in his or her role.
This is an 18 month fixed term position with possibility of renewal.

Other core duties:
o Plan and perform research tasks of limited complexity requiring initiative and judgment in applying basic knowledge and understanding of scientific theory when precedents do not provide specific guidance; general instruction is provided by the supervisor.
o Conduct literature searches, and write literature summaries, requiring preliminary judgments after conceptual approach is outlined by the supervisor. Build and organize data as requested by principal investigator or faculty; use common statistical programs, requiring the application of job control language in generating and organizing data.
o Help orient and train new staff or students as needed.

A four year degree in Psychology or related fields.
