Assistant Professor of Spanish (Tenure-track)

The University of South Carolina, Aiken, a senior institution in the University of South Carolina system, seeks candidates for Assistant Professor of Spanish (Tenure-track), beginning August 16, 2019. Required: minimum earned Ph.D. in Spanish with a specialization in Latin American Literature in hand by August 16, 2019. The ability to teach Basic Italian Courses is desired and as well, preference will be given to applicants who have knowledge of and experience in teaching Spanish to English and English to Spanish translation studies. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a 3/3 load of undergraduate courses in Spanish which can include specialized courses in Spanish such as Spanish for Medical Personnel and/or Spanish for Business. The candidate must demonstrate strong evidence of excellence in teaching, scholarly potential and native or near-native fluency in both Spanish and English.
