Research Assistant , Ophthalmology - Georgetown University Medical Center

Requirements

The Research Assistant is responsible for keeping the lab organized, performing designed experiments, and discussing the data with the PI. S/he generates accurate and high-quality data for publications and grant proposals, managing the mice in the animal facility. Working directly for the laboratory of Dr. Nady Golestaneh, the Research Assistant has additional duties that include but are not limited to:
  • Conducts scientific experiments as needed.
  • Takes care of the mice records, tracking data accurately.
  • Manages the laboratory and checks the reagents for ordering.
  • Works and communicates directly with the students to perform experiments.
  • Meets weekly for a lab meeting to discuss data, communicating daily with the PI.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Science, specifically in biochemistry and cellular biology
  • Experience in cell culture, biochemical analyses and molecular biology
  • Experience with other techniques such as immunohistochemistry are prefered
