St. Edward's University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track visiting assistant professor appointment in Chemistry for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Responsibilities
Duties include the possibility of teaching lower-division courses and laboratories in General, and Organic chemistry. Additional expertise in teaching junior level Biochemistry, Biochemistry II, and corresponding laboratories is also necessary. Visiting Assistant Professors will participate in departmental meetings, departmental service, and related initiatives. Applicants interested in gaining experience and mentorship in the use of active student-centered learning approaches are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications
Ph.D. in chemistry and prior teaching experience is required. The department is committed to broadening the participation of under-represented groups in STEM fields. We seek candidates interested in promoting meaningful interactions between students and faculty that help our majors develop both knowledge and confidence in the professional practice of science regardless of their background or outgoing career trajectory. Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal history background check is required.
