Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional evenings, weekends, and travel to Africa.

The Rice 360° Engineering Project Manager serves as the engineering project management lead at Rice 360° and liaison between the Rice 360° design team and our manufacturing partners. The Engineering Project Manager will interact extensively with research engineers and manufacturing engineers to facilitate the transition to production of technologies under development through the NEST360° project.

Experience Preferred

- Experience transitioning technologies from research & development to production
- Experience with design of instrumentation for low-resource settings
- Experience with medical technology development and regulatory approval processes

Internal interaction with Rice 360° students, staff, and faculty. Regular external interaction with manufacturing engineering design team. External contacts with clinicians, researchers, and students.

- Performs the full range of project management cycle: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing
- Independently leads and directs projects requiring high levels of functional integration and involving multiple disciplines to be managed
- Directs development of an action plan, and estimates requirements for resources, including management, labor, materials, and time required to complete project
- Facilitates discussions and negotiations to drive recommendation consensus
- Develops and helps execute comprehensive change management strategy and communication plan relative to project scope and stakeholders
