Job Summary/Basic Function:
Teach all levels of courses in the undergraduate and graduate photography and new media art curriculum; emphasize critical decision making and execution throughout the creative process to positively affect the realizations of students' efforts in a wide variety of media and approaches, including traditional methods and emerging technologies. On-going, active engagement within the new media and photography concentration, department and university committees is expected, as is student advising. The standard course load is a 3/2.

Minimum Qualifications:
MFA in photography, new media, or closely related field, at the time of appointment, with demonstrated teaching experience, and an active creative practice and exhibition record appropriate to rank. Applicants must have a high level expertise in one or more of the following areas: digital and analog photographic processes and technologies, and/or time-based media. While the successful candidate should be comfortable working between the related areas of photography and new media, the position is open to a wide range of technical and pedagogical approaches, and the successful candidate's teaching and creative work may have a primary focus in either photography, new media or both.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicantswith demonstrated experience teaching as instructor of record,and a broad understanding of contemporary trends in art, including its history, theory, and practice.
