Department Chair
The Department of Mathematics at the University of North Texas invites applications for the position of Department Chair. The normal term of appointment is 4 years, renewable.
Mathematics is a comprehensive department with 35 faculty, including research faculty in both pure and applied math as well as theoretical and applied statistics. We offer degrees through the Ph.D. and have approximately 350 majors and 60 graduate students.
UNT is a public research university with an R1 Carnegie classification enrolling over 38,000 students, making it one of the largest universities in Texas and the 33rd largest in the nation. Our location, Denton, is a thriving city with vibrant artistic and musical communities.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics, an academic record allowing appointment as a Full Professor with tenure, and an established research program.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants having a record of external funding, administrative experience, a distinguished record of teaching, and demonstrated ability to work with faculty and administrators across the university.
