Position Description:
Under the Direction of the General Liability Manager, the Property, Liability and Auto Program Coordinator is responsible for Office of Insurance and Risk Management Liability, Property and Vehicle Programs. Administers the allocation for the Self-Insurance Vehicle Physical Damage premium Liability premium and Administrative fee for campus university owned vehicles. Administers the Self Insurance program for the Campus Fine Arts, Marine and Property and Liability programs. Compiles, analyzes and Administers underwriting information for the various insurance Programs for Office of the President Risk Management. Provides risk analysis and recommendations in the development of techniques to reduce potential exposure for financial loss and advises and helps train campus departmental staff regarding campus liability issues as requested.
Assists with claims intake, investigation, expert retention, and coordination of evidence pertaining to claims or suits involving general liability, automobile liability and property programs. Liaison with all campus departments and point person in coordinating information and documentation needed by third party administer in adjusting auto, litigated and non- litigated GL and property programs, fine arts, including making recommendations to Third Party Administrator on all aspects of claims. Assist subrogation adjusters, attorneys and witnesses in lengthy and complex investigations of claims and suits, respond to discovery requests and inspections of property for subrogation claim/suits. Provide incident report, pictures and estimates for repair for university-owned vehicles and final invoice and account number for funding. Tracking payment status of auto and property claims through the UC claims management system. Directly working with independent adjusters handling large losses, including keeping all stakeholders up to date on progress of the claim, obtaining and providing relevant claim information to independent adjuster and department point person. Responsible for obtaining all cost and expense information pertaining to losses under $15,000.
Compiles monthly employment complaint and grievance data; review and process monthly management reports; audit monthly payment and voucher reports; and enter new claims and incidents into IVOS.
Reviews performance agreements, Requests for Waivers of The Regents insurance requirement, noncomplex contracts and agreements for appropriate indemnification language and issues certificates and letters of self-insurance as required; requests certificates of insurance from excess carriers. On line input of information for issuance of certificates of insurance from Alliant Certificate Issuance Portal.
