Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Student Programs & Engagement (SP&E), the Program Coordinator is live-on staff member responsible for the development and implementation of a dynamic, highly engaging Student Center program. The Program Coordinator serves as a part of the operations team for the Student Center, advises Bentley's student media organizations, and manages the SP&E student marketing team, HYPE. The Program Coordinator is responsible for planning and supporting departmental events including Welcome Back Weekends each semester and is expected to actively participate on committees and serve as a resource for students relative to their co-curricular engagement on campus.

Essential Duties
  • Supervise TNT (Today n' Tonight in the Bentley Student Center) student staff in the development, implementation, and execution of a dynamic, highly engaging Student Center Pub program intended to increase student engagement, campus life, and diverse interactions among students.
  • Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Student Center and student staff in conjunction with the Assistant Director. Help to ensure the Student Center is home to Bentley students that is inviting, inclusive, and high energy. This may include but is not limited to: managing the student Event Management Team in event support and building security, serving as the point of contact for Student Center room reservations and set-up requests, and supporting operations functions for student organization event planning.
  • Manage approximately 15 students who work as members of theHYPETeam and oversee all departmental marketing strategy and content. This includes HYPE's use of social media, graphic design, digital marketing, photography/videography, blog writing, and other innovative marketing efforts to ensure students are aware of and engaged in the department and its offerings to students. The Program Coordinator is responsible for hiring, supervising, providing feedback, and team-building for theHYPETeam, in connection to departmental and divisional goals related to student employment.
  • Serve as the advisor and thought-leader for student media on campus. This includes advising the following University media student organizations, The Vanguard student newspaper, the WBTY student radio station, and the Vale Yearbook, and their student leadership in their co-curricular learning, student impact, and professionalism related to their publications and creative mediums.
  • Co-chair the Welcome Back programming committee, along with the other Program Coordinator in the department, to ensure Back2Bentley and Winter Welcome Back weekend events are innovative, engaging, well-marketed, and promote a spirited transition back to campus for all students. The Program Coordinator serves as a member of university, divisional, and departmental committees as needed.
  • Collaborate with campus partners in University Police, Facilities, Conference Services, and other departments, as well as with external agents and vendors, to ensure the success of campus programs.
  • Participate in the planning and support of office-wide programs.
  • The Program Coordinator must live on campus in a provided apartment so that they have easy access to support regular late-night and weekend programming throughout the academic year. This includes being present at evening and late-night programs, attendance at student meetings, availability for after-hours facility needs in the Student Center, and support of divisional initiatives and programs as needed. In the event of a campus emergency, the Program Coordinator will serve as a designated staff member for student and programmatic support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related field with knowledge of student development theory
  • 1-2 years event/program planning experience preferably through a graduate program
  • Experience and/or dedicated interest in operations, campus space management, and student employment
  • Attention to detail, ability to manage ongoing and multiple responsibilities, and strong work-ethic
  • Passion for working in a fast-paced and dynamic department as an active and engaged team member


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with late night/large-scale programming desired
  • Experience in multicultural settings, diversity training programs, second language fluency, or coursework in multicultural perspectives is desirable


Work Environment
  • Fast paced environment, evening and weekend hours as related to programs required.
  • Depending on the program/event, physical involvement with respect to set up may be necessary. Initiative, striving for excellence and ability to tend to multiple details are critical to the position.
