The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Infectious Disease has an opening for a full-time Instructor - Advanced Practice Provider - Children's Hospital Immunodeficiency Program (CHiP) position.

Job Summary:
To provide medical management of HIV infection, primaryhealth care to individuals from birth to adulthood, and participate in conductof HIV-related clinical trials. The primary patient population will be with HIVpositive infants, children and youth receiving care at Childrens HospitalImmunodeficiency Program (CHiP), including expectant mothers within that agerange and their exposed infants. The ideal applicant will enjoy providing bothsubspecialty HIV care and some primary care in a holistic setting to apopulation of largely marginalized individuals, including patients withco-morbid substance use or psychological disorders, and those with barriers tohealth care, such as language, trauma, low health literacy, poverty,homelessness, and stigma. The applicant will be comfortable working in a teamsetting that includes physicians, social workers, mental health professionals,pharmacists, nutritionists, and out-reach workers.
The CHIP program is a federally-funded research network site in several networksand the applicant will be involved in the recruitment, assessment, and on-goingevaluation of participants in clinical trials.
Examples of WorkPerformed:
- Perform detailed history, physical exam andformulate differential diagnosis within scope of practice for HIV positiveclients ages birth-adulthood, including expectant mothers receiving HIVmanagement during pregnancy.
- Formulate, implement, assess and readjust planof care for developmentally appropriate HIV management, including medicaleducation, adherence support, and medical case management with input and supportfrom other members of multidisciplinary care team, including client referralfor care to other entities.
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostictesting for diagnosis and management of HIV and related other disorders.
- Manage common primary health needs impacted byHIV infection including but not limited to immunizations, sexual health andfamily planning, screening and treatment for dyslipidemia, depression,substance use.
- Identify, educate, consent, and perform clinicalstudies in clients interested in participating in research.
- Participate in workgroups and initiatives toimprove the quality of care for clients receiving services in the CHiP Program.

Salaryand Benefits:
Salary is negotiable andcommensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation
