Job Summary/Basic Function:
The University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BMEN). We are looking for candidates with research accomplishments in one or more of the following areas: cancer research, drug delivery; biosensors; neuroengineering; artificial organs; tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

The candidate for the position in Biomedical Engineering is expected to teach BMEN undergraduate and graduate courses, develop a strong research program funded by external sources, support and mentor graduate students, and provide service to the University and the profession.

We are looking for a candidate who has entrepreneurial spirit, is willing to build a research group around his or her research interests, and help establish and grow a new department and degree programs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate in biomedical engineering or a closely related field. For the Assistant Professor position we are looking for candidates with a strong publication record and the potential to succeed in securing research funding and mentoring graduate students. For the Associate Professor position we expect a sustained record of providing mentoring to junior faculty, advising graduate students, providing service to the University and profession, and securing external funding for research activities.

Preferred Qualifications:
Post-doctoral research experience or industrial research experience is preferred.
