The Executive Director of Development and Alumni Engagement

The Executive Director of Development and Alumni Engagement provides strategic philanthropic leadership. The incumbent is an experienced leader and strategist, and works closely with the University's senior administration, faculty, and staff to implement a comprehensive advancement strategy that positions the University and Foundation to achieve their financial goals. This includes all aspects of charitable giving, alumni engagement and ensuring success of the mission and vision of the university. The position serves as the Executive Director to the Board of Directors of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Foundation and to the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association.

• Lead and supervise a multi-faceted, metrics-informed advancement operation including major and planned gifts, alumni relations, special events, annual giving, corporate and foundation relations, prospect research and donor relations

• Devote at least 50% of time to managing and cultivating a portfolio of major donors; university leadership and volunteers in soliciting charitable contributions from key alumni, friends, corporations and foundations

• Formulate policies and procedures for UW-Platteville and collaborate closely with the Foundation and Alumni Association Boards to effectively implement Board policies and decisions

• Implement of an assessment framework to monitor advancement and department performance and support ongoing professional enrichment training • Travels frequently in order to build and maintain donor and alumni relationships and represents the University at various events

• Serve as an ex-officio non-voting member of the Foundation Board of Directors and the Alumni Association Board of Directors to regularly update the Boards on fundraising and membership initiatives, and work collaboratively with the chairs of each Board, particularly related to matters of gift acceptance, stewardship, and membership drives
