The NCSU Libraries Special Collections Research Center is seeking a Part-Time Videographer to support the department’s video oral history and Wolf Tales programs. The Part-Time Videographer will work individually and collaboratively with the SCRC Outreach Engagement Program Librarian, Graduate Assistant, and Digital Program Librarian, to record video interviews for long-term archival preservation and access. Duties include: managing, operating, and transporting video recording equipment; recording video interviews as part of oral history and Wolf Tales collections; joining Special Collections outreach team to facilitate recording events; configuring optimal recording setup in a variety of indoor settings; working occasional evenings and weekends; exporting and editing audio and video recordings; managing files to share with team members and interviewees; coordinating file delivery for digital preservation and access using Trello. Part-Time Videographer may also support curating, editing, and production of audiovisual content for public programming, teaching, and other outreach activities.

Other Work/Responsibilities Minimum Experience/Education

NC State students preferred but the position is open to the public.

Departmental Required Skills

Experience using digital video cameras, microphones, audio recording devices, and professional lighting kits. Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 30 lbs. Experience with digital media editing software and recording equipment, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Audacity, and Mac operating systems. Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, time management, and attention to detail; ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to work quickly, efficiently, and meet project goals and deadlines.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

Familiarity with best practices for oral history interviewing, audiovisual recording standards, and archival preservation of audiovisual materials.
