Coordinates all aspects of the 24/7 desk operation in each residential facility including recruiting and selecting. Responsible for training student workers (desk staff, desk supervisors, rover staff and rover supervisors). Responsible for training staff on customer service, overseeing mailrooms in each building, assisting with coordination of summer programs, and working with various offices on campus to support our staff and residents.

• Assist Director of Housing with request from Legal Counsel and board of claims cases involving the housing department.
• Assists Director with summer camp schedule and billing.
• Assists the Director with student employment budget.
• Assist Associate Director with managing databases tracking resident room assignments.
• Assist Associate Director with reconciliation of room assignment and billing.
• Coordinates HB-321 listing of students with documented disabilities with the Student Support Services Office, the Student Disability Service Office and the office of Institutional Diversity, Equity and Access.
• Coordinates reporting procedures for HB-322 with Murray State Police.
• Coordinates customer checks of all hall desk operations.
• Coordinates payroll and time sheets with administrative assistant and Payroll Office for desk workers, rover staff, desk supervisors and rover supervisors.
• Coordinates and maintains the housing web site, and various social media platforms for the Housing Department.
• Coordinates mailrooms in each building, including mailbox assignment and the mail forwarding process.
• Provides on-call support for housing staff in a rotation with other professional staff in the housing office on a monthly basis.
• Coordinates the selection process of front desk workers and desk supervisors.
• Select, train, supervise and evaluate rovers and the rover supervisors during the academic year and the summer.
• Plans and coordinates the staff training for desk workers, rover staff, desk supervisors and rover supervisors during the academic year and the summer.
• Maintains rover, rover supervisor, and desk supervisor files.
• Coordinates staff evaluations of desk workers, rovers and desk supervisors.
• Contributes articles to the parent’s newsletter.
• Coordinates and maintains staff manuals (desk workers and rovers).
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Housing.

Minimum Education Requirements

• Master’s degree in student personnel or related field required.

Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements

• Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in residence life required.
• Experience in supervision of staff and advising student groups.
• Must have basic computer knowledge with Access and Excel programs.
• Ability to organize and communicate effectively both orally and written.

Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications

• Prefer experience with a housing database system.
