DepartmentWorking as a member of the Faculty ofDentistry Human Resources office and utilizing an understanding of the overallgoals and objectives of Human Resources and the University, the incumbent willprovide a full range of HR services to client units and will provide support tooverall restructuring activities within the Dentistry portfolio. Specifically,the HR Consultant will independently advise managers and administrators on allHR policies and practices, and collective agreements related to the managementof non-union and unionized staff including organizational change, performancemanagement, recruitment, salary administration, job evaluation and termination.Responsibilities will also include advising on employment-related laws andjurisprudence including the Human Rights Code, the Employment Standards Act,etc.; analyzing, evaluating and classifying both unionized and non-unionizedpositions; providing recruitment advice and assistance to clients; providingindependent advice and guidance on complex organizational change andrestructuring; contributing to attendance and disability management as a memberof a cross-functional team; and participating in special projects and processre-engineering.  



CampusEDUCATION:Universitydegree in a relevant discipline and CHRP designation preferred or equivalentcombination of education and experience.

 EXPERIENCE:Minimum five (5) years progressivelyresponsible and related human resource. Demonstratedexperience developing strategy, providing expertise and overall management tocomplex restructuring activities.  Experience with collective agreementand employment policy interpretation and application.  Demonstratedexperience with unionized and non-unionized job evaluation, compensation andrecruitment methodology and practices.  Sound knowledge of human resourcesbest practices and employment related legislation. Proven successful projectmanagement experience and experience conducting research.

 SKILLS:Superior Excel skills including theability to use advanced functions. Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Word andPowerPoint.   Demonstrated competencewith databases/information systems and compiling and analyzing human resourcesinformation.

 OTHER:Superior oral and writtencommunication, facilitation and interpersonal skills.   Demonstratedproactive and effective client service orientation.  Demonstrated creativity, flexibility,initiative and problem-solving skills.  Ability to work effectively bothindependently and within a team environment and to successfully manage multipleand conflicting priorities with tight deadlines.   Experience conducting investigations anasset.  Demonstrated analyticalskills.  Awareness of and sensitivity to issues of equity anddiversity.  Ability to maintain strict standards of confidentiality. Demonstrated project management skills.  Demonstrated ability to deal withsensitive issues with tact, diplomacy and compassion.
