The Department of Business Management in the Poole College of Management houses faculty specializing in areas of marketing, finance, supply chain management, and information technology. Faculty works closely with our centers and initiatives, including the Center for Innovation Management Studies, Technology Entrepreneurship Commercialization, and the Supply Chain Resource Cooperative.

Essential Job Duties

The Department of Business Management is seeking a full-time Lecturer or Teaching Assistant Professor to teach business analytics and statistics at the undergraduate and graduate level. Primary responsibility for this full-time, non-tenure track position is teaching business analytics and statistics at the undergraduate and graduate level. Courses are delivered either online or in a traditional classroom setting. The teaching load is three to four sections per semester. Lecturer typically teaches 4 class sections (12 credit hours) per semester. Teaching Assistant Professor typically teaches 3 class sections (9 credit hours) per semester, with additional scholarly research responsibilities. Candidates must also be a contributing faculty member to department and college service activities. Optional summer teaching may also be available for additional compensation.

Other Work/Responsibilities

Contributing member of department and college faculty. Develop and deliver assigned course(s) under the direction of the Department Head.

Minimum Education/Experience

Minimum of Ph.D Degree in statistics or related field required and experience in teaching statistics is required for Teaching Assistant Professor

Minimum of Master’s degree (or equivalent) in statistics or related field and experience in teaching statistics required for Lecturer.

Title/Rank is commensurate with degree earned course level and content.

Departmental Required Skills

Strong commitment to excellence in teaching is expected. Significant knowledge of statistics, data analysis, and data analytics and their application to business problems is required.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

An MBA and/or business experience is desirable. Also desirable is evidence of high-quality teaching through, for example, teaching evaluations and letters of recommendations.

Previous teaching experience in online courses is also preferred.

Experience in big data analysis and analytics would be desirable
