Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Residence Life, the Housing Assignments Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination and promotion of on-campus housing with a special emphasis on resident recruitment efforts and providing outstanding customer service. This position will manage the department’s assignments process, including new applicant processing and occupancy data management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate, plan, and implement housing assignments, room changes, waitlists, and billing processes for all residential students at a 1,030 bed, 3 residential complex campus; Work in close conjunction with the Office of Student Conduct to ensure adherence to sanctions regarding housing assignment, emergency relocation, removal and/or restriction from housing;
  • Serve as lead in all open house events, orientations, and general College events in which Housing can be marketed; Present housing information for audiences up to 500 people; Maintain statistical records, dashboards regarding our occupancy and retention efforts;
  • Serve as subject matter expert in StarRez software and coordinator of processes and workflows as it relates to assignments, room configuration, student correspondence, portal maintenance, and housing charges;
  • Produce and distribute all external communication materials such as managing and maintaining the housing webpage, letters, brochures and other promotional material; Coordinate production and writing of marketing materials; Provide concept development and layout design, and serve as the liaison to vendors involved in printing and design;
  • Monitor products, services, and trends offered by competing private housing, as well as other colleges and universities; Maintain accurate records regarding current rates, trends, etc
  • Performs others duties as assigned.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and one (1) – three (3) years of housing and/or residential life experience as a professional or graduate assistant or high school diploma and three (3) years of housing and/or residential life experience as a professional
  • Demonstrate high level ability to craft written communication with brevity, accuracy, and relevance
  • Ability to be an eloquent and skilled public speaker with a sales approach
  • Intermediate skills in MS. Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word
  • Have a high level attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage and analyze large amounts of information
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to coordinate the timely and accurate delivery of information
  • Demonstrate adaptability of multiple tasks and conflicting priorities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience with StarRez including assignments and charges
  • Working knowledge of Adobe applications

Physical Requirements

Position may require local travel. Depending upon specific duties, position may require a College-issued uniform or shirt to ensure employees engaged in representing the College to the community are clearly identified as such.
