The Web Application and Salesforce Developer 3 at the Rady School of Management serves as the school’s primary application development lead and implementer across all technology and product stacks in use at the school. This includes a mixture of both tailored COTS software (primarily the Salesforce and Atlassian platforms) as well as custom LoB applications that serve the growing school’s technology needs. Knowledge of C# and the Microsoft solution stack are strongly preferred.

In addition to a broad technical portfolio, the successful candidate will have experience serving in a technical leadership capacity on moderately complex enterprise projects. In this leadership role this position interacts with managers, users, faculty, technical and non-technical staff, within and outside the School. These tasks include leading project meetings, soliciting user feedback, developing specs, negotiating time frames and deliverables, and reporting on project progress. This position holds the important responsibility of prioritizing projects.

Under the direction of the Rady School's Chief Technology Officer, the Web Applications Developer designs, develops and maintains complex multi-site and off-site user interactive systems, databases, and websites. This position plans and implements the import, export, and exchange of data to/from various on-campus and external sources, including vendors. This position initiates a wide variety of activities including problem analysis, specs identification, definition of system assumptions, system integrations, cost analysis.

This position also serves as a professional resource on technical matters for the Rady IT Help Desk.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience leading projects, (identify scope of project, estimate timelines & milestones). Project management experience, prioritization, and organizational skills; experience managing deadlines.

  • Advanced skills associated with software design, modification, implementation and deployment, including object-oriented programming concepts.

  • Strong understanding of SalesForce.com and TargetX platforms, with ability to build custom apps and objects, formula fields, workflows, custom views and other content of intermediate complexity. Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on SalesForce.com and TargetX.

  • Advanced experience with MS Visual Studio and MS development products and building data driven applications using C#

  • Experience communicating technical information to technical and non-technical personnel. Rapport-building and collaboration skills. Interpersonal/communication skills.

  • Experience interacting with users; experience interviewing front-line managers to , efficiently identify the key components of a process; experience streamlining processes.

  • Extensive experience mining data from multiple sources and databases using SQL, Access, pivot tables and other query tools. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced experience with user experience software development using JavaScript, XML, CSS, and other related UI technologies
