Marian University-Indianapolis, is a Catholic, comprehensive, regional institution of higher education dedicated to excellent teaching and learning in the Franciscan and liberal arts traditions and offers a multitude of undergraduate, graduate and professional programs. Klipsch Educators College is seeking an innovative and energetic colleague to join the college in training the nation’s top educators and to participate in innovative teacher preparation practices. Marian offers both traditional four year programs and newly designed five year programs resulting in an accelerated bachelor’s to master’s degrees in education with a culminating year-long residency. We invite qualified applicants for the position of full-time, tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor in Education, Educational Psychology or a related field. Candidates with significant experience may be considered for a higher rank.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Exhibit leadership interest and potential, promote academic excellence, actively participate in the life of the campus and help advance the institution.
  • Teach various undergraduate and graduate courses in educational assessment and educational psychology with a strong clinical focus grounded in scientifically-based educational principles and theory.
  • The teaching load will be 12 semester hours per academic year.
  • Be involved in service to the university and engaged in research and scholarship.
  • Be a team player, embrace a student centered culture, and be a part of a dedicated team of faculty and staff with a positive demeanor.
  • Actively participate in curriculum development, assessment and accreditation activities within the department.
  • Actively participate in faculty meetings, camp events, intellectual discussions, fine arts performances, social events and sporting events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Requirements:

    • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission and strategic vision of Marian University
    • Ph.D. in Education, Educational Psychology or a related field with a minimum of three years of P-12 teaching experience
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Knowledge of higher education and demonstrated teaching excellence
    • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work independently with colleagues throughout the university and in the community
