Degree Audit & International Student/Scholar Business Systems Analyst

This position exists to support CU Student IT Services (CU-SIS), including student (Campus Solutions), degree audit (uAchieve) and international student/scholar management (sunapsis) applications, processes, and services. This position works with application managers and developers to troubleshoot incidents, shepherd configuration and development, and perform regression testing. The Business Systems Analyst position is responsible for liaising with users to gather business requirements, create functional design specifications and test plans, and facilitate changes. 
The CU-SIS Business Systems Analyst works with groups such as: 
  • Application Managers 
  • Developers 
  • Campus Users 
  • Production Services 
  • Data and Business Intelligence 
  • Project Management 
  • Quality Assurance 
  • Service Desk 
  • Consultants  
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Student IT Services and is exempt from the State of Colorado Classified Staff system.
Duties and Responsibilities: Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: 
  • Analyzing, troubleshooting, and tracking issues within student information system, degree audit and international student applications, and modules 
  • Working with users and application managers to gather business requirements, create functional design specifications and test plans, and perform regression testing 
  • Maintaining technical business process documentation 
  • Testing application patches and upgrades  
  • Providing application production support to stakeholders and end-users as needed 
  • Reviewing application release notes and performing impact analysis 
  • Liaising to 3rd party vendors related to Student System initiatives, client services, and integration points within student system functions 
  • Troubleshooting and analyzing data or application issues within the student systems suite specific to the business needs of online education in the area of Degree Audit and International Student systems. 
  • Creating personas and business models to translate new programs and applicant processes for online students.

  • Abilityand willingness to travel within the state of Colorado to University ofColorado’s four campuses

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education. A combination of education, technology training, industry certifications, and related experience may substitute for a degree on a year for year basis. 
  • One (1) years’ experience working in higher education to include the following: 
    • Analyzing and troubleshooting software application issues 
    • Testing software application changes
Preferred Qualifications:
Three (3) years’ experience working in higher education Experience as a business or technical analyst that includes some of the following components: 
  • Documenting business processes 
  • Gathering requirements 
  • Creating business cases and functional specifications 
  • Writing test plans 
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting software application issues 
  • Testing software application changes 
  • Experience working with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Experience working in a university registrars or international student and scholars office Experience working with CollegeSource degree audit software Experience working with international student/scholar administration (e.g. PeopleSoft/ISSM/sunapsis) Experience working at a multi-campus university
