Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualificaitons.

Preferred Qualifications Position Summary

This position is located in Cobb County. This position is responsible for paraprofessional work with County Extension Agents in a food and nutrition education program for limited resource clients. The employee must exhibit qualities of independent judgment. Work is performed under general supervision.

Illustrative Examples of work:
1. Plans, organizes, schedules and conducts nutrition and food safety classes for limited resource clients, including youth and adults, under supervision of County Extension Agent.
2. Assists the County Extension Agent by researching and providing information requested by clients.
3. Relates effectively to youth and adults.
4. Leads group class effectively.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Desirable training and experience.
1. Ability to relate effectively to young people and adults.
2. Skill in working with clients with limited resources.
3. Graduation from high school.

Physical Demands

Standing, bending, food preparation, transportation of demonstration supplies, lifting, driving
