Enterprise Application Services (EAS) is in the Office of Information Technology (OIT) division at North Carolina State University. EAS is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, enhancement & maintenance of the University’s enterprise business applications. This includes: development, operation & maintenance of all enterprise administrative systems (Advancement, Financials, HR, Identity and Access Management, Portal, Research Administration and Student Information Systems, etc.), configuration management, maintenance, enhancements, and application integration.

Essential Job Duties

This position develops, enhances, and maintains the Student Information Systems. This position is responsible for working with the IT Manager, related Project Leaders, Team Members, and Functional Offices in order to implement advanced and highly complex software solutions with minimal supervision. This position provides technical production support, designs and develops system enhancements and new applications, performs system testing, writes and maintains technical specifications and documentation.

Other Work/Responsibilities Minimum Education/Experience

Master’s degree; or a bachelor’s degree and at least one year of closely relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Departmental Required Skills

Significant application development knowledge and experience.

Ability to independently, quickly, and efficiently identify and solve technical problems that can impact a large number of customers.

Ability to combine strong technical knowledge with a strong understanding of customer requirements to offer customer solutions to problems in a very practical, timely and efficient manner. Customer service skills are critical.

Strong organizational and communication skills are essential. Thorough understanding of the project development life cycle, including but not limited to application analysis, development, testing, documentation, approval and post migration validation. Attention to detail and ability to form strong relationships between team members, customers, and management is essential.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

Significant PeopleSoft application development knowledge and experience with the PeopleSoft Student System. Advanced SQL skills.
