Provide technical leadership and coordination with regard to the specification, installation, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise services to support the administrative, instructional, and research functions of the College. Communicate with stakeholders in Information Technology functional areas to ensure coordinated and effective implementation, delivery, and/or brokering of services. Assume specialization in operating systems and system administration tools and techniques, and serve as technical lead on demanding enterprise projects and processes, such as the virtualization, cloud integration, directory services, and disaster recovery plan.Position/Job Responsibilities
1.Specify, install, configure, integrate, and maintain computer systems, including hardware, operating systems, file systems, virtualization and cloud infrastructure and platforms, system administration utilities, networking, backup and restore, and system security.
2.Serve as technical lead on demanding enterprise projects. Guide the design of overall technology solutions. Install, configure, and maintain technology solutions that rely on one or more computer systems. Troubleshoot and resolve problems.
3.Monitor computer systems’ performance, availability, and security; identify and implement measures to improve performance, availability, and security where warranted.
4.Contribute and support technical and procedural solutions for Disaster Recovery, including the development of detailed plans and documentation for the recovery of systems and data. Participate in exercises to test recovery plans and procedures.
5.Develop and demonstrate a multicultural awareness and contribute to cultivating an inclusive, diverse and respectful College community. Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff, faculty, students and visitors to the College. Promote a flexible, collaborative and inclusive work and living environment and engage in educational opportunities to increase awareness and understanding of diversity and inclusion.
6.Provide technical support services to assist users, programmer analysts, other system administrators, and technical support staff regarding systems usage, problem resolution, and publication of technical documentation.
7.Research, propose, and evaluate software and hardware solutions to meet the needs of the College.
8.Maintain current documentation for computer systems.Position/Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience or the equivalent education, technical certifications and experience; demonstrated technical expertise in large system environments to include knowledge of public and private clouds, hardware, operating systems, application software, utilities, and system security; in-depth knowledge with Linux and Microsoft Windows, and proven success troubleshooting and implementing systems solutions; excellent attention to detail, strong organizational, analytical, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to establish and meet deadlines in a service oriented environment; ability to effectively work and interact respectfully within a diverse and inclusive environment; ability to organize and lead technical teams in an enterprise environment; excellent group facilitation and use of meetings; and demonstrated technical project management leadership expertise are required.EEO Statement
