Payroll Accountant, Senior

DescriptionPayroll, Benefits & HRIS is seeking to hire a multi-faceted and skilled Senior Payroll Accountant.  The scope of responsibility will include these specific duties but is not limited to the following,

  • Bank Draws (Funds request) - Insurance - Creates journal entries in the PeopleSoft Financial System to transfer funds between accounts, relieving the bank debit

  • Edits the CES and Supplemental PDR files received from Shared Service Center (SSC) on a monthly basis; Researches deduction differences for the Health and Welfare insurance accounts

  • Compares files received from SSC to ledger detail

  • Updates manual adjustment spreadsheet, create a ticket to SSC

  • Compares the table in the HCM system for coverage effective dat to Benefits effective date

  • Calculates the incoming credit for Retirees and COBRA participants so Disbursements can relieve the bank credit from the bank account

  • Research LWOP employees and maintains communication about premiums due

  • Communicates any deduction discrepancies to the employee and is responsible for taking the necessary actions to rectify the discrepancy

  • Communicates with SSC via ticket to the Help Desk when an error is found in BOSS, Winflex or the General Deduction areas

  • Processes manual adjustments for benefits due to the University

  • Monitors Life and Disability Insurance - Proper flow of information from the evidence of insurability process for Life and Disability Programs

  • Payroll Processing - Inputs adjustments for deductions for Health and Welfare

  • Reconciles all accounts back to Financial System

  • Responsible for the Arrears report and making adjustments

  • Running the 090 Employees on leave report

  • Assist with the input of retirement (ORP and voluntary TSA) Election

  • Assist with the monthly common remitter retirement plan process

  • Assist with stop payments and bank retractions

  • Assist with the Garnishment process when needed

  • Assist the Payroll Manager with the overpayment processes



QualificationsBachelor's degree and four years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
