Business Intelligence Developer Sr

DescriptionJob Purpose: Design, develop, and test reporting solutions that meet enterprise needs for decision-making. Implement, upgrade, and support reporting, analytics and business intelligence solutions to meet the information needs and the strategic goals of a large unit or across units. Analyze reporting requirements, enterprise data model and data integration to deliver enterprise solutions. Major Responsibilities:

  • Analyze functional needs that drive reporting solutions. Recommend solutions that support decision-making and are aligned with Institute standards and processes.
  • Provide system integration and advise managers on complex technical issues.
  • Design, develop and update reporting solutions that meet targeted and enterprise needs.
  • Develop metadata layer in enterprise reporting tool(s).
  • Identify and gather requirements for testing, develop test plans, ensure the development of test scripts and coordinate test transmissions as required. Verify the collected data is within required quality standards.
  • Research and implement best practices, standards, and development strategies in enterprise reporting tools.
  • Work with data architects and recommend how data should be stored to maximize reporting efficiency.
  • Identify and provide input to new technology opportunities that will have an impact on the enterprise wide BI systems. Research products for integration into campus use.
  • Provide guidance, training, and problem solving assistance to other team members.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Work Experience: Four to six years of Business Analysis or related technical experience.

  • Skills: This job requires strong business intelligence skills; ability to set development standards; strong data skills (SQL), ability to work in a team environment; skills in project management, work leadership, presentation, customer service and problem solving are required.
